Analysing your marketing

Online marketing is a must for businesses of the 21st century. Almost all of us now have access to the internet whether it be via a smart phone, tablet or computer and we often scour the internet when looking for products or companies that offer a service we require. It may be that you want to build up your brand name and get your company recognised or maybe you are looking to increase footfall into your local premises or possibly increase traffic through to your website. Whatever your reason for doing online marketing, you should always spend some time analysing the results to see what has worked and what hasn’t worked.

If you are wanting to improve the number of visitors you get to your website, you should be able to easily track the results through a statistics package such as Google analytics. This is a free software package that allows you to really drill down to see what your visitors are doing. Most servers also have a stats package set up on there to show you information such as visitors, pages viewed and time spent on the site.

If you are doing other forms of online marketing, be sure that you have a way of seeing how successful they are. If you are advertising on another site for example, maybe create a unique URL just for that ad so you can see how many people clicked on the link.
