Brand awareness – where do you start?

A new brand can sometimes be hard to get off the ground with a lot of money often spent on advertising to start to get some brand recognition.

A good starting point for a new product can be a bit of product promotion, this could be through free samples handed out to the public or through a promotional campaign offering discounts or free samples.

It’s said that for a brand to be recognisable the customer needs to see the brand in at least 3 different places. This could be online advertising through social media, adverts in magazines and newspapers or billboard advertising. Depending on what your brand or product is you can decide the most appropriate medium for effective advertising.

Sometimes social media promotors can be a great form of advertising, these paid promoters will often blog about your brand or product to their followers and encourage them to engage with you. Positive reviews really are effective in our current culture where most of us extensively carry out online research before purchasing a product or using a brand.

With a new brand publicity is everything, so encourage the good and defend the bad as quickly and fairly as possible to promote positive brand awareness.
